Matin tranquille (Quiet Morning)

Matin tranquille, "Quiet Morning," is a bed and breakfast located on the hill of the neighbourhood la “Citadelle”, in Liege, in the eastern Walloon region of Belgium. “rue Auguste Donnay”; is a quiet street with easy and free parking.

We are located only five minutes from downtown Liege, by car or bus (the bus stop is only one block from us on rue de Campine)


It takes only 15 minutes to walk down to the main square Place Saint Lambert,or 20 if you stroll along the park and the lovely rue “Naimette”.
(A bit of a walk uphill to get back...)

If you have more time and energy you may like to walk all the way up to “La Citadelle” (10 minutes), a vast green space with great view of the city.
There you'll also find the steps of the “Montagne de Bueren” which go down to the historic centre with its old buildings, fine museums and... secret alley ways . Not to mention the many fine restaurants and cafés, good movie theaters, opera house...

The house of Matin tranquille is a three-storey town house offering three comfortable bedrooms with private bathrooms. It was build in 1932 with materials salvaged and recycled from an Art Nouveau building which had been destroyed by fire.

An important renovation in 1986 brought modern conveniences while keeping the flavor of the past with the high ceilings, marble mantel piece, old wood floor...

The house has a small yard and patio. High-speed wireless internet access is free

A train or car ride will take you to Brussels (90min), Aachen (1 hour) or Spa(30min) and it takes only twenty minutes to reach Maastricht (Netherlands) and Tongeren.
